Chelsea Buckborough, a paraprofessional at Polton Elementary, was named 2018 Woman of the Year by the Aurora Chapter of Business and Professional Women (BPW) of Colorado. Buckborough was honored during the group’s regular meeting on March 1.
“As an educator and an individual, she is a perfect example of a woman who empowers others to achieve professional and personal growth,” said Felicia Stanton, vice president of the Aurora BPW. “That is why Chelsea was chosen as our 2018 Woman of the Year.”
At Polton, Buckborough works with students with special needs, including students with learning disabilities, anxiety, attention deficit disorder and autism spectrum disorders. In 2016, Buckborough was honored as a Cherry Creek Schools All Star. The All Star Awards program recognizes outstanding classified employees.
