Past and present students, parents, teachers, support staff and principals of Polton Elementary School marked the school’s 40th anniversary with a Ruby Jubilee celebration on April 26th.
Fifth grade student ambassadors led tours of the school, which has one of the most unique designs in the Cherry Creek School District. Then guests gathered in the gym for a program that featured teacher Heidi Parkhurst, who was once a student at Polton. Principal Richie Strickland shared facts about the school’s history, as past principals Lisa Reddel, Todd Fukai and Mimi DeRose looked on, and Superintendent Mary Chesley congratulated the Polton Community for four decades of academic excellence.View more photos of the celebration on the Cherry Creek Schools Facebook page!
What was most apparent throughout the evening was the pride that the Polton community feels in its elementary school, and the positive impact the school has had on forty years’ of students, parents, teachers, administrators, neighbors and other community members.
Congratulations, Polton!Posted May 20, 2013.
