Seventeen seniors in the Cherry Creek School District earned a perfect score of 36 on the ACT test and two received a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT test during the 2017 calendar year. One student, Hari Sowrirajan, earned a perfect score on both exams.

“It is a remarkable accomplishment to earn a perfect score on one of these rigorous, college admissions tests,” said Dr. Harry Bull, superintendent of Cherry Creek Schools. “To earn a perfect score on both exams is truly extraordinary. It is my pleasure to congratulate these students and commend them for their commitment to academic excellence. Their performance is also a testament to the support they have received over the years from their teachers and families.”

Typically, just over 2 million students take the ACT each year, and less than 2,000 of them earn a perfect score. That’s less than one-tenth of one percent. Similarly, just a fraction of the 1.8 million students who take the SAT annually earn a perfect score.

Congratulations to these students!

The ACT is broken into four parts: English, math, reading and science reasoning. Each part is scored on its own scale of 1 to 36. A student’s overall test score is the average of those parts. The SAT has two, 800-point sections: mathematics, and critical reading and writing. Both tests are accepted by most colleges and universities as one of the considerations for college admission.
