Cherry Creek Schools will launch a new website in early 2019. It will feature a modern design and an easy-to-navigate organizational structure that will make it easier for parents, students, staff and community members to find information they need. The new website reflects the district’s commitment to innovation, inclusive excellence and college and career preparedness and success.
The new district website will launch this winter, followed by new school websites in the spring and fall. The sites were designed based on the feedback of more than 4,500 parents and 1,100 staff members who responded to a survey that was sent out last spring and through conversations with stakeholder groups. The survey gathered information about communication preferences and topics of interest. It showed that parents and staff want the websites to be more user-friendly and easier to view on a smartphone or tablet, with easier access to useful information like lunch menus, schedules and staff contact information.
The new website will do all of those things, plus it will be accessible to people with special needs such as visual impairments or mobility issues.
“The Cherry Creek School District is committed to open and transparent communication that engages parents as partners in their children’s education,” said Abbe Smith, Executive Director of Communications. “The new website is designed to give parents easier access to information, resources and services that will help their children succeed.”
The new Cherry Creek Schools website will be integrated with the district’s mass notification system, which is used to send out recorded messages, text messages and emails about emergencies, attendance and important events for students and parents.
The website is just one of several communications improvements that will be implemented in the coming months. Watch for more information on improvements to emergency communications in the coming weeks, as well as the debut of a Cherry Creek Schools mobile app in 2020.
