Fox Hollow Elementary flash mob celebrates “Leader in Me”

The students and staff of Fox Hollow Elementary celebrated a second year of success as a “Leader in Me” school with a leadership assembly and flash mob on the school playground on May 8. Despite the chilly weather, kids and adults alike had fun performing to “What does the fox say?”

The Leader in Me program was developed by the Steven Covey Education Group and is based on Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

“The goal of the program is to develop a culture of leadership where every child can be a leader,” said Fox Hollow Principal Joleta Gallozzi. “It teaches students, staff and parents to use the 7 Habits in their daily life and to build lifelong skills such as goal setting and problem solving.”

This year the school focused on the sixth habit, Synergy, as the school prepares to move from a four track calendar to a traditional calendar.

The leadership assembly started with fifth-graders talking about leadership, then older students leading the younger students in a Fox Hollow version of the Internet sensation “What does the fox say?”
