Arrowhead Elementary celebrates 40 years strong

Members of the Arrowhead Elementary community came together on Sept. 15 to celebrate the school’s proud past and bright future. They gathered on the school grounds to remember an educational adventure that actually began in another school.

499 Missy, Randy, Roberta, Dave.jpg“In 1977, we opened as a school within a school at Sagebrush Elementary while this building was being constructed,” said Roberta Ballard, Arrowhead’s current principal, during a short ceremony on the school’s playground. “Later that year, teachers and students moved into their new school, enthusiastic to create a community of their own.”

Generations of students were inspired “to think, to learn, to achieve, to care,” which is the mission of Cherry Creek Schools. Though many things have evolved over the years, the mission remains unchanged and continues to guide the school today.

“The staff here at Arrowhead continues to be dedicated to excellence and provide children with the support they need to succeed,” Principal Ballard said. “As we look forward to the next 40 years, our goal is to offer students numerous opportunities to soar.”

It was an evening of family fun and community togetherness.
