CCSD schools make 5280’s list of Top Public Elementary Schools

Eleven elementary schools in the Cherry Creek School District were included on 5280 Magazine’s list of the Top Public Elementary Schools, based on academic achievement in math, reading AND writing. Those schools are:
•    Challenge School
•    Cherry Hills Village Elementary
•    Cottonwood Creek Elementary
•    Coyote Hills Elementary
•    Dry Creek Elementary
•    Greenwood Elementary
•    Heritage Elementary
•    High Plains Elementary
•    Homestead Elementary
•    Rolling Hills Elementary
•    Willow Creek Elementary

5280 Magazine evaluated 514 elementary schools in 19 school districts in the seven-county metro area. The magazine reviewed the schools’ 13-14 Colorado Growth Model records from the Colorado Department of Education. The growth model assesses schools according to levels of academic proficiency and growth – how well schools are helping their students meet or exceed expected skill levels at each grade.

5280 selected 52 schools from the pool of 514 schools for being in the top 15 percent of schools where students are proficient in all three subject area (math, reading and writing).
