Exceptional educators honored at Distinguished Teacher Tea

Principals and parents, family and friends and even past and present students paid tribute to 34 exceptional educators during the 2017 Distinguished Teacher Tea. The event, hosted by the Colorado Awards Cherry Creek Chapter, was held March 14 at Grandview High School.

Chapter chairman Emmett Cruson welcomed past and present honorees and their guests to the event. Congratulations and words of thanks were delivered by Randy Perlis, Board of Education president, Sheryl Cunningham, Cherry Creek Education Association president and Jennifer Melton, Parents’ Council president.

Dr. Harry Bull, superintendent of Cherry Creek Schools, told the honorees that they are the people who have made a positive and lasting impact in the lives of others. He thanked them for their commitment to children and their passion for learning.

Then principals introduced their schools’ 2017 Distinguished Teachers, describing the fun and creative ways they engage students, how they develop positive relationships with parents and how they support their colleagues.
