Congratulations high school athletes!
Congratulations to the Cherokee Trail High School Cougars, who took second place in the 5A State Football Championship on Dec. 1 at Invesco Field at Mile High. CTHS held heavily-favored Valor Christian to no points until the very end of the game.

CTHS joins several other CCSD high school teams who have made it to the state championships this fall. Cherry Creek High School won the Boys State Tennis title (the school’s 200th state title!) while Smoky Hill High School placed second in the Boys State Soccer tournament and Grandview High School took second in the State Volleyball Championships. Overland was third and Cherry Creek was fourth in the Girls State Gymnastics Championships.

In addition, several teams made it to the state quarterfinals (top 8) or semifinals (top 4), including:
Football - Eaglecrest and Grandview – top eight
Gymnastics – Cherry Creek and Overland – top four
Lacrosse - Cherry Creek – top four
Soccer - Cherry Creek and Eaglecrest – top eight
Softball - Eaglecrest and Grandview – top eight
Volleyball – Cherry Creek – top four

Congratulations to all of our talented high school athletes, as well as their coaches, parents and other supporters!
