ICAP- Individual Career and Academic Plan and Naviance Student

Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP)

ICAP is a multi-year process that intentionally guides students and families in the exploration of career, academic and postsecondary opportunities. With the support of adults, students develop the awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and skills to create their own meaningful and powerful pathways to be career and college ready.  Students will complete and track their Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) in Naviance Student.  The student's ICAP will vary based on his/her individual interests and goals, but should include goal setting, academic planning, career exploration, skill identification and post-secondary planning.

Our district has partnered with the parent company, Hobsons, to make the Naviance Student, web-based, platform accessible to all students.  Naviance Student aims to provide a variety of tools for student achievement through academic, career and college planning. These tools are accessible online from anywhere or from any device.  Students can access a variety of resources, communicate with school staff and collaborate on college and career readiness activities.  In addition, students can research colleges, military options, explore careers, complete interest inventories, learn about their individual learning style, build a resume, apply to a college or university and search for scholarships or summer enrichment opportunities.

For more information about Naviance Student or ICAP, please contact your student's school counselor.
